Chase Brocklesby, who was already serving a nine-year prison sentence for rape, has been handed an additional seven years behind bars after pleading guilty to a further sexual offence.

The 28-year-old, formerly of the Boston area, was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on 31 March for a series of crimes, including rape, common assault, criminal damage, and dangerous driving. Despite denying the rape charges, he was ultimately convicted and incarcerated.

A new charge of rape, involving a different victim, was brought against Brocklesby while he was already in custody. The offence, which occurred in Boston last year, led to Brocklesby pleading guilty in October. As a result, he was given a consecutive seven-year sentence on 5 December.

In addition to his prison sentence, Brocklesby was issued a restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order, which requires him to disclose any new relationships he enters.

Detective Katherine Brennan commended the bravery of both victims who came forward to report their experiences. She emphasized the importance of their courage in ensuring that Brocklesby faces justice.

She stated: “Brocklesby committed horrific crimes and his continued imprisonment is a victory for the victims and the community. Thanks to the bravery of the victims, who stepped forward even when it was difficult, this dangerous individual will remain behind bars for a considerable period. We are committed to ensuring that he will not have the opportunity to reoffend once his sentence is complete.”

Brennan also praised the work of the ‘Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders’ team for their proactive efforts in ensuring Brocklesby’s ongoing incarceration.
