‘Dangerous’ Child Sex Offender Jailed After Decades of Abuse
A dangerous child sex offender has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being convicted of a series of historic sexual crimes dating back to the 1970s and 1980s.

Andrew Davies, 58, of Penkhull in Staffordshire, was found guilty at Stafford Crown Court of 10 serious sexual offences, including the rape of a female under 16, multiple counts of sexual assault, and inciting young girls to commit acts of gross indecency.
The offending spanned several years, with survivors bravely coming forward in 2023 to tell police about the abuse they suffered, prompting a full investigation by Staffordshire Police.
Davies initially refused to answer questions when officers questioned him in July 2023, but a jury later found him guilty following trial evidence. In addition to the prison term imposed on Thursday, December 18, he has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
Detective Constable Lily Rowley, from the force’s rape and serious sexual offences unit, described Davies as a “dangerous offender” and highlighted the importance of survivors speaking up. She emphasised that the sentence sends a clear message that the police are committed to pursuing justice and supporting victims. Survivors who feel ready to share their experiences are encouraged to contact the police via 101.
This case forms part of a broader effort across the UK to tackle historic and ongoing child sexual abuse, with law enforcement urging survivors to come forward regardless of when the offending took place.
