Chinese Airline to Launch Daily Flights to Lahore

China Southern Airlines is set to enhance air connectivity between China and Pakistan by increasing the number of flights on its Guangzhou–Lahore route.

Starting January 1, the airline will operate daily flights between Guangzhou and Lahore, deploying an Airbus A330 aircraft. Currently, the route is served five times a week using a Boeing 787. The shift to daily operations is expected to significantly boost passenger capacity and offer greater convenience to travelers.

The expanded schedule is anticipated to benefit business professionals, students, and tourists, while also strengthening trade ties and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

In a related development, air travel links between Pakistan and Sri Lanka are also set to improve. Beginning January 20, Sri Lankan low-cost carrier FitsAir will introduce twice-weekly flights between Colombo and Lahore. The service will operate every Tuesday and Saturday using an Airbus A320 aircraft.

These new routes and increased frequencies reflect growing regional demand and ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity across South Asia.
